Native Browser Plugin (NPAPI) support
From Jan 2015 Google Chrome (32 onwards) has deprecated NPAPI, allowing 'native plugins' to extend the browser functionality.
To enable NPAPI plugins for Google Chrome:
- Open Chrome
- In the URL address bar, enter chrome://flags/
- Search for 'Enable NPAPI'
- Ensure the checkbox is checked
After enabling NPAPI plugins for Google Chrome, ensure the Media Shuttle Plugin is enabled (the Media Shuttle Plugin should be downloaded and installed if it isn't already - this is done when a user first tries to upload):
- In the URL address bar, type chrome://plugins/
- Search for MediaShuttlePlugin
- Enable it
- Restart your browser
Note: Chrome can still block the plugin at this stage. When using a feature that requires the Media Shuttle Plugin:
- Check the address bar for the jigsaw icon
- Click the jigsaw icon
- Select the Always allow plug-ins option
- Click Done (you may need to refresh the page)
From Sept 2015 Google Chrome (45 onwards) no longer supports the NPAPI plugin. To take advantage of accelerated plugin support, please use another browser, for example Firefox.
Using an unsupported browser/version may prevent certain features working as expected.
NOTE: For some older browser versions, ZONZA's file uploader and media players may require Adobe Flash Player to be installed.
Firewall requirements
ZONZA uses UDP communication to accelerate file transfers over Internet connections. If UDP is unavailable, ZONZA will use a TCP port but file transfer will then be much slower.
Please check with your IT department to ensure that your firewall allows outbound access to the following ports:
UDP | TCP | Addresses |
